Hours ago, a new statement was issued regarding institutions that approved 6 working days and the weekly holiday as one day. In this context, the Central Bank announced that banks will work 6 working days, including Friday.
In this context, the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates has issued a notice to all banks operating in the country informing them of the necessity of opening their branch halls to provide services to the public at least five hours a day and for a period of six days, including Fridays.
The Central Bank also clarified that it will leave it to the banks to determine the working hours and days for the administration and offices as needed and to implement the application of the shift system for the branches in accordance with the laws in force in the country.
It is worth noting that the circular excluded working hours during the holy month of Ramadan, as they are subject to the notifications of the Central Bank in this regard.
The Central Bank confirmed in its circular that these instructions will become effective as of January 2, 2022, and pointed out that banks should announce this in an appropriate manner to their customers, as usual, according to what was published by Emirates Today newspaper.
