Golden Residence - Long Term Residence Visa:
The UAE has implemented a long-term residence visa system, for five or ten years, that is automatically renewed, when the same conditions are met, for certain categories that include investors, entrepreneurs and specialized talents. This new system allows residents of the UAE, foreign expatriates and their families wishing to come to work, live and study in the country, the possibility of enjoying long-term residency without the need for an Emirati sponsor, with a 100% ownership percentage within the emirates of the state, contrary to the custom, which requires the presence of a local partner with a share not less than For 51% of business and investment projects within the emirates of the country.
Ten-year residence visa
The following categories qualify for a ten-year residence visa:
1- Investors in public investments within the country with a value of no less than 10 million dirhams
Investment can take one of the following forms:
The investor must have a deposit of at least 10 million dirhams in an investment fund inside the country, or
That the investor establishes a company in the country with a capital of at least 10 million dirhams, or
To be a partner in an existing or new company with a financial share of not less than 10 million dirhams, or
That he has several investments in the country with a total value of not less than 10 million dirhams, provided that the investment in other than real estate is not less than 60% of the total of those investments.
The visa requirements include the following:
The invested capital must be fully owned by the investor and not a loan, and evidence must be provided to prove that
Retain the investment for at least 3 years from the date of issuance of the residence permit
That the investor's financial liability is not encumbered by claims or debts that affect his financial solvency, which is not less than 10 million dirhams
The investor from outside the country is granted a multiple-entry permit for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of renewal for another 6 months.
The long-term visa includes the wife and children, one CEO, and one consultant. The investor also has a visa for 3 domestic workers.
The visa is granted to specialized talents and researchers in the fields of science and knowledge, including doctors, specialists, scientists, inventors and creators. The benefits of the visa include the husband/wife and children. All categories of talents are required to have a valid work contract, and to specialize in areas of priority for the state in accordance with the following conditions for each category:
Scholars: The scientist must be accredited by the Emirates Scientists Council, or hold the Mohammed bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Excellence.
Creative people of culture and art: The creator must be approved by the Ministry of Culture and Youth.
Inventors: To have obtained a patent with an added value to the country's economy, and approved by the Ministry of Economy.
Elite owners: For those with distinct mental abilities, documented by patents or scientific research published in distinguished international journals.
Executive Directors: Those with scientific experience and high achievement, such as an engineer in a rare specialty who holds a university degree and works in a private company in the country in order to maintain current competencies and attract new competencies.
Doctors and specialists: At least two of the following conditions are required:
To have a doctoral degree from the top 500 universities in the world accredited by the Ministry of Education
To hold an award or certificates of appreciation for the existing work in the jurisdiction of the applicant
To have contributions in conducting research of a scientific nature, or scientifically related to the applicant’s field of work
To have articles or scientific books in distinguished publications in the field of work of the applicant
To be a member of an organization related to the applicant’s field of work, which requires outstanding work to be accepted for membership
He must have at least a doctorate degree, and at least 10 years of practical experience in the applicant’s field of work.
The specialization should be in required scientific fields of importance to the state.
Five-year residence visa
The following categories can apply for a five-year residence visa, which is automatically renewed.
1- Residence permit for an investor in a real estate
The conditions include the following:
The investment must be in one or more properties with a total real estate value of not less than five million dirhams
That the invested property is wholly owned by the investor and not a loan, and he must provide proof of that
To keep the investment for at least three years from the date of issuance of the residence permit
That the investor's financial liability is not burdened by civil claims or judgments that detract from his financial solvency.
The investor owns a previous successful project in an approved field with a minimum value of 500,000 dirhams,
To have obtained the approval of an accredited business incubator in the country.
The entrepreneur is granted a six-month multiple-entry permit to the state, and five-year renewable residence permits, for a spouse, children, and three CEOs.
3- Outstanding students
A holder of an honors grade or an average of at least 95% in the General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent, from public or private schools
A university student from inside or outside the country with a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.75 or its equivalent, in the scientific disciplines specified by the commission.
The visa scope extends to families of students as well. The outstanding student is granted a multiple-entry permit to the country for a period of six months.
