Qatar takes action against GCC citizens due to urgent corona
The Qatari authorities have announced a suspension of the crossing of citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, for the Qatari borders in both directions, using the ID card as of Friday due to the spread of the Corona virus. The government communication office said, in a statement issued on Thursday, that, in line with the efforts of the State of Qatar to take all necessary preventive measures to reduce the spread of the Corona Virus ("COVID-2019"), all Qatari and GCC citizens must use passports instead of Their ID cards for travel to and from the State of Qatar, starting tomorrow, Friday, March 6
The government liaison office stated that this decision is among the precautionary measures taken by the state to confront the Corona virus.
As of Thursday evening, 8 cases of infection with the new strain of the Coruna virus were recorded without any deaths, while more than 140 infected persons were registered in neighboring Gulf countries, most of them in Kuwait and Bahrain.
