Today, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced on Sunday the adoption of changes to the residency and citizenship procedures in the country for international students.
Hence, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid wrote on his official account on Twitter: "Today we have also approved changes to the residency and citizenship procedures in the country by enabling international students to bring their families whenever they have the financial means."
In turn, he stressed that "the UAE has become a regional educational destination through more than 77 universities and tens of thousands of students annually." Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's tweet came after a mother presided over the first cabinet meeting in the UAE in 2021.
And now in these details, the official UAE news agency "WAM" said the Cabinet had adopted a decision regulating the recruitment of expatriate university students to their family members.
Hence, the agency added that "this is done by enabling university students to recruit their families whenever they have the financial capacity resulting from recruitment and to provide adequate housing in order to achieve stability and moral support."
The agency stated that the decision “supports the university education sector in the country and enhances the country’s position at the global level as a leading destination for residence, work and education.
