UAE: Updating the conditions for gatherings and holding community events

Urgent news was received from the Emergency and Crisis Management Committee in the United Arab Emirates that it updated the conditions for holding community events in closed and open spaces.

In this context, and in order to enhance the preventive and precautionary measures to preserve public health, the Emergency and Crisis Management Committee in Abu Dhabi has updated the conditions for holding community events in closed and open places.

The committee stated that the capacity during weddings, funerals and family events has been reduced to a maximum of 60%, provided that the number of attendees does not exceed 50 people in closed places and indoor halls, 150 people in open spaces and 30 people for events held in homes.

The committee also indicated that the precautionary measures previously in place for attending community events will continue to be applied by highlighting the case of “green passage” on the application of the fort and a negative result of the PCR nasal swab examination not exceeding 48 hours, taking into account the commitment to wearing masks and social distancing measures.

These new updates will be effective as of today, Monday, December 27, 2021.

It is worth noting that the Committee for the Management of Emergencies, Crises and Disasters caused by the Corona pandemic in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will intensify inspection and control campaigns to ensure the extent to which this preventive and precautionary measure is adhered to, according to what was published by the Emirates Today newspaper.
