The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has identified 4 controls or cases that allow owners of establishments and work in the private sector, the possibility of employing workers for additional working hours. In all cases, the total working hours should not exceed (144) hours every three weeks.
The UAE prevented overtime working hours from being 4 hours per day and decided that it should be a maximum of two hours per day.
According to an indicative circular broadcast by the ministry on its official pages on social media platforms, the second case is if the working conditions require the worker to work more than the normal working hours, the period of increase is considered an additional time for which the worker receives a wage equal to the wage corresponding to the normal working hours, according to the basic wage, plus an increase Not less than (25%) of that wage.
The ministry stated that in the event that working conditions require the worker to work overtime between ten in the evening and four in the morning, the worker shall be entitled for the extra time the prescribed wage in relation to the normal working hours, calculated according to the basic wage, plus an increase of no less than (50%) of That wage, with the exception of shift workers.
She indicated that if the circumstances required the worker to be employed on the day of rest specified in the work contract, or the work regulations, he must be compensated with another day of rest, or he must be paid the wage of that day according to the wage established for normal working days, in addition to an increase of no less than ( 50%) of the basic wage for that day, noting that the employee may not be employed for more than two consecutive days of rest, with the exception of day laborers.
