UAE Ruler orders 55% reduction in traffic violations Dubai Police General Headquarters, at the beginning of the Year of Tolerance, announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has launched a year to establish the UAE as the global capital of tolerance Allows drivers who have been issued traffic violations not to pay such violations provided that they comply with the traffic law, and not commit traffic violations throughout the year.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, made the announcement during a press conference held in the Department of Security Information in the presence of Major General Eng. Faisal Issa Al Qasim, Director of the Security Media Department at the General Directorate of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, and a number of officers and media personnel.

The Chief of Dubai Police expressed his hope that this initiative will contribute to saving the lives of road users in all categories, making the roads in Dubai free of accidents, in addition to achieving public satisfaction and happiness as a strategic objective of the Dubai Government and Police, as well as reducing the financial burdens on the violators. It is an incentive and facilitation to solve the problem of accumulation of violations on many owners of vehicles that have accumulated large sums due to violations, and enable owners of vehicles to secure and renew their licenses, as well as contribute to motivate drivers to abide by the rules and traffic law.


In a related context, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police expressed his hope that this initiative will contribute to saving the lives of road users of all categories, making the roads in Dubai free of accidents, in addition to achieving public satisfaction and happiness as a strategic objective of the Dubai Government and Police, as well as reducing the financial burdens on the offenders. In addition, it is considered an incentive and facilitation to solve the problem of accumulation of violations on many owners of vehicles that have accumulated large sums due to violations, and enable owners of vehicles to secure and renew their licenses, as well as contribute to motivate drivers to abide by the rules and traffic law.


For his part, Major General Mohammed Saif Al-Zaffin praised this quality initiative, which continues with the activities of the Year of Zayed and commemorates the Year of Tolerance and gives traffic laws a new dimension, and is a golden opportunity to spread a culture of public traffic in which all share responsibilities.
He stressed that the initiative is clear to those who are willing to review his mistakes and stand with himself, drivers should abide by the traffic law and not commit other violations throughout the year so that the value of traffic violations are deducted at specific rates and according to the commitment of the driver and not committing violations according to the following:
The commitment for (3) months shall be deducted from the value of the violations (25%).
Commitment for (6) months will fall from the value of the violations (50%).
Commitment for (9) months will fall from the value of the violations (75%).
Commitment for one year shall be deducted from the value of the violations (100%).
Major General Al Zafin reiterated that this initiative allows drivers full and absolute freedom to determine their fate and this depends on the extent of their commitment to the conditions and laws and reduce the financial burden on everyone living in the UAE.
