The Public Prosecution warns the owners of websites and electronic accounts

The Public Prosecution clarifies the crime of fabricating fake mail, websites and electronic accounts.

The State Public Prosecution explained, through a film material that it published today on its social media accounts, the crime of fabricating mail, websites and false electronic accounts.

The Public Prosecution indicated that according to Article 11 of Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 regarding combating rumors and cybercrime, which stipulates that he shall be punished by imprisonment and a fine of not less than 50 thousand dirhams and not more than 200 thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties, whoever Fabricate a website, account, or e-mail, and falsely attribute it to a natural or legal person.

The penalty shall be imprisonment for a period of no less than two years, if the offender uses or enables others to use the fake account, mail, or website in a matter that offends the person who has fabricated it.

The penalty shall be imprisonment for a period not exceeding 5 years and a fine of no less than 200,000 dirhams and not more than 2 million dirhams, if the crime is committed by fabricating a website, account or email for a state institution.
