Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed: New decree on members of parliament, including 20 women

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed issued a decree forming the members of the new Federal National Council (Parliament).

The decree, issued today, included the names of 40 members representing the seven emirates comprising the UAE federation, divided between 20 members elected last month, while 20 members were appointed by the rulers of the UAE and were announced today at the beginning of this month.

On the other hand, the list included the names of 20 women, who make up 50 percent of the total members of the Council, for the first time in its history and never before.

The appointed members include a former minister, a doctor, a teacher, a writer, and an academic.

The decree of the UAE president stipulates that the Federal National Council will be convened on Thursday, 15/11/2019.
