This project reflects the company's ambitions, as it plans to invest $4 billion, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Construction of the plant is expected to begin after the feasibility study is completed by the end of 2026, with molten metal production expected to commence before the end of the current decade.

The plant's production capacity is expected to reach 600,000 tons of primary aluminum annually, which is twice the United States' production of this essential metal, known for its importance to modern life and national security.

It is worth noting that primary aluminum imports meet approximately 85% of the needs of American industry, including the automotive, aviation, and construction sectors.

The plant will be built in Oklahoma, following the completion of agreements to provide competitively priced electricity, in addition to investment and tax incentives provided by the state government.

Reports indicate that negotiations between Emirates Global Aluminium, Public Utilities of Oklahoma, and the state government are in advanced stages.

The company also signed an exclusive lease option agreement for land in the Tulsa-Enola Industrial Park, which provides an efficient means of transporting cargo via the Arkansas River Navigation System, which connects to the Mississippi River System.

The project is expected to create up to 4,000 local construction jobs during the construction phase, and approximately 1,000 direct and permanent jobs upon completion, contributing to the development of a local industrial hub specializing in the sector.

The United States is one of Emirates Global Aluminium's largest markets, with aluminum plants across the country using the company's products.

EGA America, the company's distributor in the United States, operates its office in St. Louis, Missouri.

The company also produces recycled aluminum in the United States through its 80% stake in Spectro Alloys, based in Rosemount, Minnesota, which it acquired in 2024.

Emirates Global Aluminium continues to invest in expanding its existing 110,000 tons per year of recycled aluminum ingots by producing 55,000 tons of recycled aluminum billets. Production is expected to commence in the second half of 2025, with production continuing to increase throughout the year.
