As part of its commitment to public safety, the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a comprehensive set of awareness guidelines designed to empower citizens and residents with proactive readiness.
Authorities clarified that these emergency instructions are part of a "routine public awareness effort" and do not indicate any immediate threat to national security. The campaign operates under the empowering slogan: "Preparedness does not mean fear; it is the mindset of the confident".
A primary focus of the guidelines is managing potential "power outages." Residents are advised to remain calm and stay indoors unless an exit is absolutely necessary. For lighting, battery-operated flashlights are the recommended safe alternative; if candles must be used, they should never be left unattended or placed near flammable materials like curtains. Furthermore, the Ministry warned against using power generators in enclosed spaces due to ventilation risks, stressing the importance of maintaining air circulation.
To build long-term resilience, the National Civil Protection Platform encourages households to maintain a ready "emergency kit" featuring water, non-perishable food, first aid supplies, and extra batteries. Digital readiness is also highlighted, with instructions to keep mobile phones fully charged and have backup methods like car chargers ready. Additionally, residents are urged to keep their vehicle fuel tanks full. For verified instructions and further safety updates, the Ministry directs the public to the official National Civil Protection Platform.
