Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower has announced that seven essential types of work will be exempt from the midday work ban, subject to prior approval from the Labor Inspection Department.
The decision is intended to allow the continuation of specific activities that are considered necessary while maintaining compliance with labor regulations.
According to the authority, employers seeking to benefit from these exemptions must obtain advance authorization before carrying out any work covered by the exception.
The exempted activities fall within categories regarded as operationally or technically necessary and therefore require special consideration under the regulations.
Officials emphasized that the exemptions are not granted automatically and remain subject to approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
The measure aims to balance worker protection during periods of high temperatures with the need to maintain certain essential operations.
The Public Authority for Manpower stressed the importance of complying with all conditions related to exemption requests and obtaining the required approvals beforehand.
At the same time, the midday work ban remains fully applicable to activities that are not included within the approved exemption categories.
The policy continues to support occupational safety objectives by reducing workers’ exposure to extreme heat during peak daytime hours.
Authorities will continue monitoring implementation and ensuring compliance with the rules governing both the midday ban and the approved exemptions.
Employers have been encouraged to review official guidelines and coordinate with the Labor Inspection Department whenever exemption requests are required.
