Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced that criminal investigators have solved the case of a missing Indian resident after discovering his body buried in the Al Salmi desert area and arresting one suspect, while efforts continue to locate another suspect who has left the country.
According to the ministry, the investigation began after a report was filed regarding the resident's disappearance, prompting criminal investigation teams to launch an extensive search and gather evidence.
Investigators found that the victim had traveled on March 19, 2026, with the owner of heavy equipment to the Al Salmi area to carry out maintenance work before all contact with him was lost.
Traffic surveillance footage later showed the victim traveling with the suspect to the work site but failing to appear in the vehicle during the return trip, raising suspicions of criminal involvement.
The investigation led to the arrest of the suspect's son, who admitted during questioning that the victim was fatally struck by a crane while working at the site.
He further stated that his father and he transported the victim's body to a remote desert location and buried it in an attempt to conceal the incident and avoid legal accountability.
Based on these statements, investigators were directed to the burial site, where forensic specialists, crime scene experts, and fire service personnel recovered the body.
The Public Prosecution ordered the transfer of the body and the completion of all legal and forensic procedures as part of the ongoing investigation.
The arrested suspect has been referred to the competent authorities, while security agencies continue their efforts to apprehend the second suspect who fled the country.
Kuwait's Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to resolving criminal cases efficiently and pursuing all individuals involved through the legal process, reinforcing public security and the rule of law.
