Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that three 33kV transformers at the Shuwaikh A main substation have gone out of service due to a technical fault linked to high temperatures and increased electrical loads.
According to the ministry, the incident resulted in a power outage affecting a limited section of Shuwaikh, specifically Block 6.
The outage occurred amid rising temperatures and growing electricity demand, placing additional pressure on the power network.
The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy stated that emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the site to assess the situation and begin repair operations.
Technical crews are currently working to restore the affected transformers and return electricity service to impacted areas as quickly as possible.
The ministry noted that field monitoring operations remain ongoing to ensure the safety of equipment and the stability of the network following the repair process.
Officials emphasized that restoring service and minimizing disruption to consumers remain top priorities during the response effort.
Specialized teams continue to evaluate conditions on site and implement the necessary technical measures to address the fault efficiently.
