Kuwait City – March 26, 2026 | The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior (MOI) has issued an urgent advisory to all citizens and residents, calling for extreme vigilance due to the prevailing unstable weather conditions. As heavy rainfall lashes across various regions, the Ministry’s General Department of Security Relations and Media confirmed that all field sectors are on maximum alert to ensure public safety and manage traffic disruptions.

In a proactive move to mitigate risks, the General Directorate of Traffic has implemented several temporary road closures and diversions. This includes diverting traffic on King Isa Road (Fahaheel Expressway) and adjusting routes near Al-Taawon Street and Al-Bidaa Roundabout to prevent vehicles from entering flooded areas. Authorities emphasized that these measures are essential to safeguard motorists and facilitate the work of emergency response teams.

The MOI urged drivers to strictly adhere to traffic laws, maintain a safe following distance, and avoid high speeds during rainfall. Motorists are also advised to monitor official weather updates and electronic signboards for real-time instructions. The Ministry reiterated that the national emergency hotline (112) is fully operational and ready to assist with any security or humanitarian reports 24/7.

As thunderstorms are expected to continue intermittently, the Kuwaiti authorities remain committed to monitoring the situation closely. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary and to rely solely on official sources for information to ensure the well-being of the entire community.
