In an official statement aimed at ensuring public transparency, Engineer Fatima Jawhar Hayat, the official spokesperson for Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, provided an update regarding an incident at the Sabiya Power and Water Distillation Station.

Spokesperson Hayat confirmed that a minor fire broke out in one of the station’s fuel tanks, which resulted in smoke being visible at the site.

​The Ministry emphasized that the incident resulted in zero human casualties, as site safety protocols were immediately activated. Furthermore, the authorities reassured the public that electricity and water supply systems across the country remain unaffected, operating normally and at full capacity.

​Dedicated technical teams were promptly dispatched to the location to conduct comprehensive inspections and risk assessments, ensuring the integrity of the power units and equipment. The Ministry successfully contained the fire in a timely manner, preventing the blaze from spreading to other facilities within the complex. This rapid response underscores the Ministry's commitment to maintaining operational stability and ensuring the security of critical infrastructure. All operations at the Sabiya station continue to function securely as the technical teams finalize their evaluation reports.
