Kuwait Fire Force Warns Against Leaving Electronic Devices and Pressurized Containers Inside Vehicles During Summer
Kuwait's General Fire Force has warned citizens and residents against leaving pressurized containers and electronic devices inside vehicles during the summer, stressing that extreme temperatures can cause them to malfunction or explode, potentially leading to vehicle fires.
Brigadier Mohammed Al-Gharib, Director of the Public Relations Department at the General Fire Force, explained that the intense heat inside closed vehicles poses a significant risk to many everyday items, particularly when they are exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
He noted that perfume bottles, cigarette lighters, and portable power banks are among the most hazardous items to leave inside parked vehicles, as high temperatures may cause them to ignite or explode, resulting in serious vehicle fires and endangering lives.
Al-Gharib emphasized that prevention is the most effective way to reduce such incidents, urging vehicle owners to remove any flammable or heat-sensitive items before leaving their cars, especially during periods of extreme heat.
He also revealed that the General Fire Force recorded 742 vehicle fire incidents in 2025, with a number of those cases linked to heat-sensitive materials or electronic devices left inside vehicles. The figures highlight the importance of following safety guidelines to protect lives and property.
The General Fire Force called on the public to follow all preventive safety measures, regularly inspect their vehicles, and avoid leaving hazardous materials inside parked cars, helping reduce the risk of vehicle fires during the summer season.
