The UAE continues to strengthen its position as a global tourism powerhouse, with Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah emerging as top holiday destinations for 2026, according to Skyscanner’s latest “Travel Trends 2026” report.
The report highlights that the three emirates are among the most sought-after destinations for travelers from Germany, Switzerland, Canada and South Korea, reflecting growing international interest driven by strong air connectivity, competitive pricing and diverse tourism offerings.
According to Skyscanner’s findings, travelers are planning to spend an average of six days in Dubai in 2026, up from four days in 2025, signaling longer stays and increased tourism spending, supported by the city’s expanding hospitality and leisure options.
Dubai, in particular, benefited from excellent flight connectivity and visa-free access for Canadian travelers, contributing to a 16% drop in prices during 2025 compared to 2024, making it an increasingly attractive destination for international visitors.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has gained popularity among travelers from South Korea, recording a significant 27% reduction in prices in 2025 compared to the previous year, reinforcing its appeal as a destination that blends culture, entertainment and modern attractions.
Sharjah also stood out strongly in European markets. Searches from Germany surged by 101% compared to 2024, while interest from Switzerland increased by 99% in 2025, underlining the emirate’s growing reputation as a cultural and family-friendly destination.
The report noted that despite the UAE’s wide range of iconic landmarks and tourist attractions, travelers are becoming increasingly focused on maximizing the value of their holidays, with hotels playing a central role in destination choice, particularly in terms of quality and overall experience.
In separate data released by Skyscanner, Dubai recorded an 89.7% increase in hotel searches and redirected pre-bookings in 2025 compared to 2024. Looking ahead to 2026, travelers are expected to extend their stays, with an average duration of six days.
Commenting on the findings, Skyscanner travel expert Ayoub Al Mamoun said the UAE has long been a preferred destination for travelers worldwide, thanks to its warm climate, strategic geographic location, seamless air connectivity, rich cultural heritage and diverse entertainment options. He added that the hotel sector has been at the forefront of this growth, successfully meeting rising demand and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
