In a move underscoring the United Arab Emirates’ growing international role in promoting peace and global stability, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, accepted an official invitation from the United States to join the Peace Council, as part of broader international efforts to strengthen security and stability in conflict-affected regions.
The decision was announced by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, who stated that the UAE’s participation reflects its firm belief in the importance of moving forward with the full implementation of the US peace plan for the Gaza Strip, proposed by former US President Donald Trump. The plan comprises 20 key points aimed at safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and supporting a sustainable and just resolution.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized that the UAE views the peace plan as a significant political framework that can contribute to advancing regional peace efforts. He reaffirmed the UAE’s confidence in President Donald Trump’s leadership and his steadfast commitment to promoting peace on a global scale, a commitment that was clearly demonstrated through his sponsorship of the historic Abraham Accords, which helped enhance regional cooperation and stability.
He further reiterated the UAE’s readiness to play an active and constructive role within the Peace Council, contributing effectively to its objectives and supporting international efforts to enhance cooperation, consolidate stability, and achieve shared prosperity for all.
On a separate note, the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the terrorist bombing that occurred in the center of Kabul, Afghanistan, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the UAE’s unequivocal denunciation of such criminal acts and reiterated its firm rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.
The Ministry also extended its sincere condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, to the People’s Republic of China and its friendly people, as well as to Afghanistan and its people, wishing a swift recovery to those injured.
