In a rapid security development, the Kingdom of Bahrain announced on Saturday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a hostile missile attack originating from Iran.
The incident highlights the ongoing regional tensions, with Bahraini forces taking immediate action to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
Firm Military Statement
According to a statement issued by the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), hostile missiles were detected within the Kingdom's airspace. The BDF's air defense systems engaged and successfully neutralized the targets. The command firmly stated that the situation is now "reassuring and under full control," emphasizing that no casualties or material damages resulted from the attack.
The statement further highlighted that the Bahrain Defence Force is performing its national duty with high efficiency and remains at the highest level of military readiness to counter any threat targeting the security, stability, and safety of the Kingdom's territories and all residents. Operations to secure the site of the attack are ongoing.
Precautionary Measures and Warning Against Rumors
Concurrently, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior issued an emergency statement activating warning sirens, urging residents to remain calm, move immediately to the nearest safe locations, and avoid using main roads unless absolutely necessary to facilitate the movement of security and rescue forces.
The National Communication Center also stressed the importance of obtaining information only from official sources, warning against following rumors or spreading unverified information that could jeopardize national security. The center had earlier noted a targeting attempt on the services center affiliated with the Fifth Fleet, confirming that relevant authorities are closely monitoring developments to protect the Kingdom's airspace.
High Readiness
This incident underscores the high combat readiness of the Bahrain Defence Force and its ability to protect national borders and assets, amidst strict commitment to the safety of everyone living in the Kingdom.
