In a swift response to videos circulating on social media showing motorcyclists performing stunts and driving recklessly in Dubai's Kite Beach area, disturbing many residents, Dubai Police arrested several individuals involved.

In a statement issued today, Dubai Police explained that they apprehended 90 people and confiscated their electric scooters for committing numerous traffic violations and dangerous maneuvers on the designated sports tracks in the Kite Beach area.

The police emphasized their firm commitment to addressing such behavior decisively and asserted that they will not hesitate to take the necessary measures against anyone who violates the law and safety regulations.

It is worth noting that the security authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced earlier this year the implementation of the new traffic law, which came into effect in March 2025.

Through this new law, the security authorities aim to enhance road safety and align with technological advancements, most notably artificial intelligence in the areas of traffic, vehicles, and road safety monitoring, according to the UAE Legislation Platform.

This law includes strict penalties related to reckless driving and endangering the lives of road users. These penalties include imprisonment, license revocation, and hefty fines of up to AED 100,000 for violators.

The law also stipulates a minimum three-month prison sentence and/or a fine of at least AED 10,000 for anyone crossing roads with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour or more outside of designated crossing areas.
