His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met today at Zabeel Palace with Asif Ali Zardari, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in the presence of senior UAE leaders, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two friendly nations.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. Discussions focused on enhancing strategic partnerships across various fields of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries and their peoples.
The talks also covered a number of regional and international developments, with both sides stressing the importance of supporting regional stability and promoting dialogue and international cooperation to achieve sustainable security and development.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnerships with Pakistan, highlighting the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and the UAE’s vision of building bridges of cooperation with nations around the world.
For his part, President Zardari praised the strong strategic ties between Pakistan and the UAE, commending Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s role in advancing bilateral cooperation and expressing appreciation for the joint efforts to expand partnerships in economic and developmental sectors.
The meeting was attended by several UAE dignitaries and senior officials, as well as members of the Pakistani delegation, including the First Lady Asifa Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and a number of senior ministers and advisors.
On the sidelines, His Highness also met with leading business figures, investors, and senior government officials, discussing key economic and development issues and exploring ways to further enhance the business environment and government efficiency.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid met with top graduates of Zayed II Military College and the Dubai Police Academy, congratulating them on their outstanding achievements and emphasizing that investing in national talent remains a cornerstone of the UAE’s future and its security capabilities.
