In a gesture highlighting the strong ethical values upheld within the UAE community, Dubai Police’s Bur Dubai Police Station honored a resident for his honesty after he returned a substantial sum of money found in a public area.

Brigadier Khalifa Khalid Al Awadhi, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, honored Mohammad Suleiman Al Qaryouti, a Jordanian national, for handing over AED 200,000 that he discovered in a public parking lot within the station’s jurisdiction. The recognition ceremony was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ibrahim Al Awar, Deputy Director of the station, along with several senior police officers.

During the ceremony, Brigadier Al Awadhi praised Al Qaryouti’s integrity, describing his action as a true reflection of the noble values that define Emirati society. He emphasized that such conduct represents the moral principles that Dubai Police are keen to promote and celebrate among both citizens and residents.

Brigadier Al Awadhi explained that this recognition falls within the framework of Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to encourage positive community behavior, supporting the strategic objectives of the Dubai Police General Command. These objectives include strengthening public trust, enhancing community security, and fostering cooperation between law enforcement authorities and the public.

He further stressed that honoring honest individuals plays a vital role in activating community partnership, which remains a cornerstone of Dubai Police’s policing strategy. According to Al Awadhi, genuine collaboration between residents and security agencies contributes significantly to spreading positive values, reinforcing social cohesion, and maintaining safety and security across the emirate.

The Director of Bur Dubai Police Station also highlighted the crucial role played by members of the community in supporting law enforcement efforts. He noted that acts of honesty and responsibility help enhance the international reputation of the UAE, reflecting a society built on respect for the law, ethical conduct, and mutual trust.

For his part, Mohammad Suleiman Al Qaryouti expressed his sincere appreciation to Dubai Police for the recognition, stating that returning the money was a moral duty before being worthy of praise or reward. He commended the Dubai Police General Command for its continuous efforts in promoting ethical values and positive behavior, emphasizing that such initiatives encourage individuals to act responsibly and strengthen their sense of belonging to the community.
