In a significant cross-border security victory, the National Anti-Narcotics Department of the UAE, in close partnership with its counterpart in Kuwait, has successfully dismantled an international drug trafficking ring, seizing more than 14 million Captagon pills weighing over 2,250 kilograms in a highly coordinated anti-narcotics operation.

The sophisticated network had masked the illegal shipment inside sacks of corn and distributed it across five shipping containers in an attempt to disguise the drugs during customs inspections. However, intensive intelligence cooperation and shared real-time data between Emirati and Kuwaiti authorities exposed the scheme before the shipment could reach its intended destination.

His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Head of the National Anti-Narcotics Department, praised the operational synergy between the Dubai Police Anti-Narcotics Division and Kuwait’s drug enforcement teams, highlighting the critical role of information exchange and joint fieldwork in uncovering the trafficking plot.

According to the official security statement, the intelligence-led investigation culminated in identifying three suspects of Arab nationality connected to the shipment. Security forces apprehended the individuals during the unloading process, securing the complete cache of narcotics at the scene.
