Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a series of services and facilities for the New Year holiday 2026, offering residents and visitors greater convenience and smoother mobility across the emirate.
According to the official announcement, public parking across Dubai will be free on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in celebration of the New Year. However, this exemption does not apply to multi-storey parking facilities or N-365 Al Khail Gate parking. Regular parking fees will resume on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Customer Happiness Centres
The RTA confirmed that all Customer Happiness Centres will be closed on January 1, 2026. Meanwhile, Smart Customer Happiness Centres located in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Twar, Al Kifaf, and the RTA’s Head Office will continue operating 24/7, ensuring uninterrupted digital services.
Vehicle Testing Centres
In addition, vehicle testing centres operated by service providers will also be closed during the New Year holiday. Normal operations will resume on Friday, January 2, 2026, in accordance with approved working hours.
Public Buses (Dubai Bus)
The RTA urged bus users to check schedule updates during the holiday via the S’hail app. The authority clarified that Route E100 will stop operating from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station starting the afternoon of December 31. The last trip will depart Abu Dhabi at 12:00 pm and Al Ghubaiba at 2:00 pm, with services suspended until January 4, 2026. Passengers are advised to use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi during this period.
Additionally, Route E102 will operate from Ibn Battuta Bus Station starting 2:00 pm on December 31 until the end of the day.
Marine Transport
For marine transport services, the RTA stated that updated operating hours for abras and marine services during the New Year holiday can be accessed through its official platforms.
Dubai Metro and Tram
As for Dubai Metro (Red and Green Lines), services will run on December 31, 2025, from 5:00 am to 11:59 pm, and on January 1, 2026, from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm.
Dubai Tram services will operate on December 31 from 6:00 am to 11:59 pm, and on January 1 from 12:00 am to 1:00 am the following day.
