The Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council has confirmed that the Nafis initiatives launched under the Year of the Family program will begin implementation in September 2026.

The measures include salary support for non-Emirati wives of UAE citizens working in the private and banking sectors, as well as salary support for children of Emirati mothers employed in those sectors.

According to the official announcement, eligible beneficiaries may receive financial support of up to AED 3,000, while the minimum support amount is AED 1,000.

The Nafis program has published specific eligibility requirements for children of Emirati mothers seeking salary support through the new initiative.

Applicants must be the son or daughter of an Emirati woman when submitting the application, and this status must remain valid throughout the period of receiving support.

Applicants must also work in the private or banking sector at an establishment registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation or at an establishment licensed by the Central Bank.

A valid employment contract approved by the relevant authority is also required, depending on the applicant’s employer and sector.

The applicant’s salary must be paid through systems approved by the relevant authorities in the UAE or through the Wage Protection System operated by the ministry.

Another requirement is a minimum educational qualification of an accredited bachelor’s degree, with the qualification recognized by the competent authorities in the country.

The applicant’s monthly salary must also fall between AED 6,000 and AED 20,000 to qualify under the announced salary support conditions.

Applications for the support program must be submitted through the Nafis platform using UAE Pass after the applicant confirms that all eligibility requirements have been met.

For children of Emirati mothers, eligibility is verified by entering the mother’s Emirates ID number before completing the registration process.

Once eligibility has been confirmed, applicants can complete their registration and upload the required documents through the platform.

Applicants can then monitor the status of their requests through their personal accounts on the Nafis platform.

Separate conditions apply to non-Emirati wives of UAE citizens working in the private and banking sectors who seek salary support under the initiative.

Applicants must be married to a UAE citizen and must not hold UAE citizenship, while their monthly salary must range from AED 6,000 to AED 15,000.

They must also hold at least a bachelor’s degree accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Another requirement is having at least two children with the UAE citizen husband or having been married for at least five years.

The program provides exceptions for four categories of non-Emirati wives from the requirements related to the number of children and the five-year marriage period.

Under these exceptions, the marriage must have lasted for at least two years, while the applicant must fall within one of the specified professional categories.

The exempted categories include medical professionals holding medical degrees, teaching professionals, women holding accredited doctoral degrees, and women working in vital job categories within the labor market.

Applications for salary support for non-Emirati wives of UAE citizens must also be submitted through the Nafis platform using UAE Pass.

Eligibility is verified by entering the UAE citizen husband’s Emirates ID number before the applicant completes registration and uploads the required documents.

The status of the application can then be monitored through the beneficiary’s Nafis account after the eligibility verification and registration procedures have been completed.

The September launch forms part of the Nafis initiatives under the Year of the Family program and establishes defined conditions for accessing the financial support.

The official announcement emphasizes that support is subject to meeting the specific requirements for each beneficiary category and completing the required application procedures through the Nafis platform.
