The Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates has officially announced the opening of the registration period for students enrolling in government schools in Dubai for the 2026-2027 academic year, offering parents and guardians a clear timeframe to enroll their children from Early Childhood (Kindergarten) through Grade 12. The registration window opened on February 9 and will remain open until March 6, 2026.

In an official statement, the ministry emphasized that registration is available only once during this period, underlining the importance of completing applications within the deadline to ensure proper planning for the upcoming academic year. This includes allocating students across schools according to geographic zones, proper staffing, and preparation of class resources.

Authorities confirmed that registration is conducted electronically through the ministry’s official website or the dedicated smart application, streamlining the process and eliminating the need for paper-based procedures. This digital approach enables parents to manage applications more conveniently while allowing education officials to efficiently process and schedule placements.

The ministry clarified that the registration process follows an approved age-based acceptance policy to ensure that each student is placed in the appropriate academic level. The process covers students entering kindergarten, transitioning from private to government schools, coming from abroad, or transferring between government schools.

Registration is open to four main categories of students:

New students enrolling for the first time, Students transferring from private institutions to government schools, Students arriving from outside the UAE, Students moving from one government school to another within the emirate.

Officials stressed the importance of parents updating the digital identity information linked to their account before submitting the application, as complete and accurate data helps ensure a smooth acceptance process without delays or rejections due to incomplete information.

The ministry also urged parents to consult the comprehensive registration guide, which outlines all procedures, criteria, and requirements for acceptance into government schools. The guide highlights both the general and advanced learning pathways, along with special provisions for integrating students of determination into supportive learning environments.

This registration period reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to improving public education, easing access to educational services, and supporting a strong start to the academic year for students, further reinforcing the nation’s vision for educational excellence.
