Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, has announced a series of road closures across several areas as part of major asphalt maintenance works.

Authorities urged motorists to exercise caution, follow traffic instructions and comply with designated diversions and road signs throughout the maintenance period to help reduce congestion and maintain smooth traffic flow.

Abdullah Dashti Street in Jabriya

The first closure affects Abdullah Dashti Street in Jabriya, between Ibrahim Al-Hajri Roundabout and the roundabout at Street 110.

The closure began at midnight on Thursday, October 15, 2026, with the road scheduled to reopen at 5:00 AM on Sunday after the planned works in this section are completed.

King Fahd Road and Al-Nuzha

The maintenance programme also includes the closure of the slow lane, middle lane and right-side safety lane on King Fahd Road, also known as Road 40.

Additional closures include the exit from the Second Ring Road towards King Fahd Road, the entrance from the Third Ring Road towards the south, as well as the entrance and exit serving the Al-Nuzha area.

These closures are scheduled to begin on Friday night, October 16, 2026, and will remain in place for 15 days as part of the major asphalt maintenance programme.

Closures on Routes Toward the Airport

The works will also require the closure of the slow and middle lanes from the intersection of Ibrahim Al-Muzain Street to the Sixth Ring Road intersection in the direction of the airport.

The plan also includes the closure of the Abu Dhabi Street exit, the Khaitan Club exit and the highway entrance at kilometre 6.5 as part of the major road maintenance works.

Authorities called on motorists to follow traffic officers’ instructions, comply with directional signs and use alternative routes during the closure period to minimize congestion and enhance road safety.

The works form part of Kuwait’s major road maintenance programme aimed at improving road quality and upgrading the efficiency of the country’s road network, with the closures scheduled temporarily according to the maintenance timetable.
