The National Center of Meteorology announced its warning to citizens and residents of the UAE, as it expected that a number of inland and coastal areas in the country would witness the formation of fog during the early hours of tomorrow morning, accompanied by a noticeable decrease in horizontal visibility, which may reach almost zero at times.
According to the center, foggy conditions are expected to persist from 12:00 midnight until 10:00 a.m., a time frame that coincides with peak traffic movement on major highways and intercity roads.
Meteorology experts explained that the fog formation is mainly due to stable atmospheric conditions, high humidity levels, and cooler nighttime temperatures, creating favorable conditions for water vapor condensation near ground level, particularly in open and coastal regions.
In light of these conditions, the National Center of Meteorology issued a strong advisory to motorists, urging drivers to exercise maximum caution, reduce speed, maintain safe following distances, and use appropriate vehicle lighting when visibility is low.
The center also emphasized the importance of staying updated with official weather alerts and avoiding distractions such as mobile phone use while driving, as reduced visibility significantly increases the risk of traffic accidents.
This advisory reflects the authorities’ ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and minimize potential risks associated with adverse weather conditions, especially during periods of dense fog that are common at this time of year.
