The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the escalating attacks carried out by the Houthi group against Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its full solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for measures taken to protect Saudi security and sovereignty.
The Bahraini position comes amid continued attacks targeting areas and civilian sites inside Saudi Arabia. Bahrain stated that targeting civilians and civilian objects constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions.
According to the Bahraini Foreign Ministry, recent attacks and attempted strikes have involved several Saudi locations, including Riyadh, Bish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu. Saudi authorities also announced the interception of a ballistic missile launched toward Riyadh.
Bahrain reaffirmed its complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed full support for the measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability and to protect citizens and residents within its territory.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry also emphasized that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia are an integral part of Bahrain’s national security. The statement referred to Saudi Arabia’s right to take necessary measures to protect its security in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
In an earlier statement concerning attacks on September 14, Bahrain condemned missile and drone attacks on Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif. The Bahraini statement said that the attacks resulted in injuries among civilians and material damage to residential homes and vehicles.
Bahrain described the attacks as a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions. The kingdom stressed the importance of protecting civilians and civilian objects from attacks.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry also called on the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and adopt a firm position to stop repeated Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia. Bahrain further called for those responsible to be held accountable and for relevant international resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216, to be implemented.
The developments come amid continuing regional security tensions linked to Houthi attacks against Saudi territory. Several Arab countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait and Egypt, have issued statements condemning the attacks and expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
Bahrain has once again emphasized its support for Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The kingdom has also stressed the importance of protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure and preserving regional stability.
The Bahraini statements represent an official position concerning the repeated attacks against Saudi territory. They also call for international action through the Security Council to address the attacks, protect civilians and hold those responsible accountable.
The latest developments therefore place renewed focus on the security situation surrounding Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Bahrain’s position remains centered on solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures aimed at protecting its people, territory and national security.
