The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi group against Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its full solidarity with Riyadh and its support for measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security and stability.

Bahrain’s position comes amid a series of attacks targeting civilian facilities and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which Manama described as a serious escalation threatening regional security and stability.

Bahrain stated that targeting civilians, civilian infrastructure and airports constitutes, in its assessment, a serious violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and international law.

The Bahraini government also stressed the importance of protecting civilian facilities and preventing attacks that could place passengers, airport workers and other civilians at risk.

Manama emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s security is closely linked to the security of Bahrain and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council region, stressing that threats against the Kingdom could have broader implications for regional security and stability.

The statement comes amid growing regional and international condemnation of attacks targeting Saudi civilian infrastructure. Bahrain had previously condemned attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport and a Saudi Airlines aircraft, describing them as violations of international law, international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.

Bahrain also called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent and decisive action to stop the Houthi attacks and hold those responsible, as well as those Bahrain identifies as supporting them, accountable.

The Kingdom further called for measures to ensure the protection of civil aviation, maritime navigation and civilians, amid growing concerns over the impact of attacks on civilian infrastructure and transportation networks.

Bahrain stressed that protecting civilians and civilian facilities must remain a priority and called for full respect for international law and relevant international agreements.

The latest developments come as repeated attacks against Saudi Arabia have triggered widespread regional and international condemnation, with several governments and organizations warning that attacks on airports and civilian infrastructure pose a serious threat to aviation safety and regional stability.

Through its latest position, Bahrain has reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia while calling for stronger international action to stop the attacks, protect civilians and preserve the security and stability of the region.
