Kuwait's Ministry of Defense announced that the country's air defense forces successfully detected and intercepted multiple hostile aerial threats that entered Kuwaiti airspace early Wednesday morning, reaffirming the Armed Forces' high level of readiness to protect the nation's security and territorial integrity.
In an official statement, the Ministry's spokesperson, Colonel Saud Al-Otaibi, said that air defense systems tracked three ballistic missiles, one cruise missile, and ten hostile drones during the early hours of the day. All of the incoming threats were intercepted and neutralized successfully in accordance with established military procedures.
The ministry explained that the successful interception operation reflected the operational efficiency and preparedness of Kuwait's Armed Forces, emphasizing that the military remains fully capable of responding to any aerial threat targeting the country.
According to the statement, falling debris from the intercepted missiles and drones caused material damage at several locations across the country. Authorities confirmed that the damage was limited and did not significantly affect critical infrastructure or essential public services.
The Ministry of Defense also confirmed one civilian injury resulting from the falling debris. Officials stated that the injured individual is in stable condition and has received the necessary medical treatment, with healthcare authorities continuing to monitor the person's condition.
The statement added that military and security agencies remain on high alert, with air defense units continuing to monitor Kuwaiti airspace around the clock and coordinate closely with other relevant authorities to respond immediately to any potential threats.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to rely exclusively on official government sources for updates and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information that could create unnecessary concern or confusion.
Concluding its statement, the Ministry of Defense reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Kuwait's sovereignty, maintaining national security, and taking all necessary measures to safeguard the country's airspace, citizens, residents, and vital infrastructure against any hostile actions.
