Kuwaiti security authorities have arrested two domestic workers after they were suspected of being involved in the delivery of illegal drugs, according to information circulating about the case

The arrests reportedly followed suspicions that the two women were involved in an activity linked to the transportation and delivery of drugs after allegedly being recruited by an unemployed Egyptian resident, according to preliminary reports.

Authorities reportedly raided the resident’s accommodation and found approximately six kilograms of various illegal substances, including crystal methamphetamine, hashish and Lyrica pills.

The circulating information also claimed that the two domestic workers had been paying money to their sponsor in exchange for not working for him, while the relevant authorities continue their investigations into the circumstances of the case.

Investigators are expected to examine the alleged roles of each person involved, determine the source of the seized substances and establish whether other individuals may have been connected to the suspected criminal activity.

The authorities are also continuing the necessary legal procedures and investigations before determining the final responsibilities of those involved.
