Urgent travel advisory! Kuwait Civil Aviation sets strict new deadlines for airport check-in counter closures starting today.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Kuwait issued an urgent administrative directive regulating check-in counter closure times for all departing flights. This official national announcement serves as a direct measure to streamline passenger flow and eliminate flight delays at Kuwait International Airport.

According to the formal statement released by Civil Aviation on Sunday May 31 2026 passengers must strictly adhere to the newly established airport arrival schedules. Government officials emphasized that these newly enforced terminal measures will officially take effect starting tomorrow Monday June 1 2026.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation explained via its official account on the X platform that check-in counters for specific destinations will close early. For all Gulf Cooperation Council member states and Arab countries counters will completely close exactly one hour prior to scheduled departure.

Authorities specified that for all other international destinations worldwide the check-in counters will be shut down one hour and a half before takeoff. Airport management strongly advises all travelers to plan their arrival at the terminals ahead of time to avoid missing their scheduled flights.

Security forces confirmed that airport operational teams and ground handling staff have been fully instructed to enforce these closure times automatically. The administrative processing for checking in baggage and issuing boarding passes will terminate precisely according to the newly announced state regulations.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation urged all airline operators to update their digital booking platforms and notify passengers of these critical timing changes. Officials reiterated that the aviation department remains fully committed to enhancing global travel standards and ensuring maximum institutional efficiency.
