The official spokesperson for Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, said that the Al-Abdali border crossing was targeted by hostile drones around midday, causing material damage but no reported injuries.
The spokesperson said that specialized teams immediately responded to the incident and took the necessary measures to secure the site in coordination with the relevant authorities.
He added that inspection and explosive ordnance disposal teams from the Kuwaiti Army’s Land Forces began surveying and securing the area, while removing remnants of the drones in accordance with approved technical procedures.
The operations are aimed at ensuring the safety of the site and confirming that it is free from any potential hazards following the incident.
The Kuwaiti Armed Forces reaffirmed their continued commitment to carrying out their duties with a high level of efficiency, maintaining constant readiness and preparedness to respond to various security challenges.
The Ministry of Defence stressed that protecting Kuwait’s borders and safeguarding the country’s security and stability remain key priorities for the armed forces.
The relevant authorities continue to follow up on the incident and carry out the necessary field procedures. According to the statement, no human casualties were reported in the attack.
