Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that the ongoing Iranian aggression against power stations has caused fires in several of their facilities, confirming that emergency and specialized teams responded immediately to the incidents and successfully brought the fires under control.

The ministry stated that the attacks caused damage to a number of energy facilities, prompting the activation of established operational and precautionary procedures aimed at protecting the national electricity system and limiting the impact of the damage.

According to the ministry, several power generation units were taken offline as a precautionary measure and in accordance with approved operational procedures. The decision was made to ensure the safe handling of the damage affecting the facilities while maintaining the stability of Kuwait’s national electricity grid as much as possible.

Technical teams and emergency crews continue to work around the clock to assess the condition of the affected power facilities and evaluate the extent of the damage. The teams are also coordinating with relevant authorities to implement the necessary technical measures and address any potential impact on the electricity network.

The ministry emphasized that protecting critical energy infrastructure and maintaining the stability of the national power grid remain top priorities. It confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored and that electricity network indicators are being continuously assessed.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity also called on citizens and residents to cooperate with official authorities and reduce electricity consumption during the current circumstances. The ministry explained that responsible energy use would help support the stability of the national grid and enable technical teams to manage the system more efficiently.
