​The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Al-Zamel, officially announced on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, that the ministry is steadily progressing with its comprehensive operational blueprints to successfully manage peak power consumption during the critical summer season. Speaking during his field visit to the "Waffar" (Save) energy conservation campaign booth, Dr. Al-Zamel acknowledged that while the summer period presents an annual challenge due to soaring consumption rates, the ministry remains highly optimistic about navigating the season smoothly, barring any unforeseen emergencies or exceptional technical incidents.

​Dr. Al-Zamel highlighted that current summer indicators remain decisively positive, reflecting the ministry's swift implementation of proactive and highly efficient measures to monitor national grid stability. To strengthen the utility network's resilience against surging temperatures, the ministry has effectively rolled out several strategic initiatives:

​Enhanced GCC Grid Interconnection: During the current year, the ministry successfully upgraded and increased the power transmission capacity in direct partnership with the GCC Interconnection Authority, ensuring immediate cross-border energy support during peak demands.

​Leveraging Conservation Campaigns: Maximizing the continuous benefits and positive benchmarks achieved by the nationwide energy conservation campaigns initiated last year to foster sustainable consumption habits among the public.

​Secured Strategic Water Reserves: The Undersecretary offered strong reassurance regarding national water security, confirming that the country's strategic water infrastructure and freshwater reserves are in an excellent and highly reassuring position.
